Hey Ladies,
I’m BACK!!!! The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride on many levels. Over the next few months I plan to share, enlighten, empower and most importantly inspire you all to live your life with increased faith in God and without limits. I’ve done a lot better managing self-discipline and I’ve gotten so much better with my time management. Being a mommy of two, working full-time and working towards my second Masters which I have now completed, time has become my friend to say the least. I’ve developed a morning routine that I’m in the process of mastering but I will absolutely let you know I’m well on my way.
While the last few months have been a rollercoaster, I’ve made building my relationship with God my number one priority. Each morning I wake up at 5 in the morning. Yes, you’ve read that correctly! There are times when I hit the snooze button but I’ve learned to place my cell phone across my bedroom in order to force myself out of the bed and to my desk.
The night before I place the following at my desk to avoid searching for items in the morning:
- Bible opened to the scripture my reading will begin
- Bible Study Journal with pen
- My Favorite Mug
- Favorite Gospel Song to play while I make my Green Tea
Preparing the night before serves as holding myself accountable to speak with God first thing in the morning before I start my day. If the rest of my day doesn’t go as I plan, at least God and I had our time first. I’ve realized speaking with God first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of my day. I have more peace and understanding. Also, the scriptures I’ve read in the morning tends to be a message for me throughout the day. It’s amazing how God works.
Once I wake up and head over to my prepped desk, I take a deep breath and pray. I thank God for waking me up. I pray over my daughters, my family, my job and anything else that’s on my heart. This is the time when I pour out my heart to God and cast all my worries and cares on to him. Remember God can handle it. As I read the word of God and spend time in his presence, it’s his response back to me. You can pray to God as often and as much as you need to but remember to make time to be still and hear his voice.
As I read over the scripture and take notes, I write down whatever is on my spirit. It could be related to a situation I’ve witnessed or confirmation regarding an issue I’m facing. Wherever you are led, make sure to write it down! If possible, designate a journal strictly for moments you spend with God. You will be surprise all the greatness he pours into you. During this time, I spend 45 minutes to an hour in the presence of God.
Understand the mornings are not mandatory. I choose the mornings because it’s a great way to start the day hearing from God but it’s also easier on my schedule throughout the day. I never want to feel as if I don’t have time for God or treat my relationship with him as an afterthought. Therefore, first thing in the morning is what’s best for me. Do what’s best for you as you continue to grow into the woman God has called you to be and make time with God a PRIORITY over everything else in your life!
I’m so happy to be back y’all! I have so much to share and most importantly I’ve grown mentally, spiritually, and emotionally! Remember ladies, keep your head up & aligned with God.
Thanks I truly needed that
Thank you for sharing this. I need to really start establishing a routine. And making God a priority. I like the idea of waking up and starting he day off with God, getting the idea into action and making it habitual is the issue I face. Do you follow a specific daily reading plan?
