I have just completed a 40 day fast well more like 60. Yes, a 60 day fast. My fast consisted of no meat, no social media, and no junk or fast food. It wasn’t as hard as it appears. I was in a season of transition and I needed to hear God’s voice clearly. I needed guidance and confirmation. During my fast God showed me and informed me of numerous things he wants me to accomplish in 2018 as well as in my life. The first task I was given was revamp A Queen with Purpose to truly fit his vision and purpose because of this we have a new look and content.
When my fast ended April 9th, I began a 5am P.O.W.E.R. Morning call with Tiffany Huff-Strothers. She’s the Creator and Founder of When She Thrives, LLC. She’s an amazing woman and in my head she’s my mentor. Day two of our P.O.W.E.R. call our topic for the morning was Faulty Focus. Tiffany asked the group of women, “Do you focus more on what you lack? Or do you focus more on you have no limitations?” I had to be really honest with myself. I concluded, I focused more on what I lack. Now some may view my story and believe there’s no reason why I’m focused on what I lack. They would think I’m crazy! I’ve accomplished a lot. Became at mother at 16, graduated high school with my class, had my second child at 21, received my Associates Degree, pushed to receive my Bachelor’s, then MBA and now working on my second Masters! What could I possibly be lacking? Well to be honest, I felt I lacked:
100% faith in God
Confidence in myself
A true sense of purpose
100% love for myself
We all have insecurities including me. When the enemy knows your weak spots, he will use them and use them and use them some more. He will try to plant seeds of doubt, discouragement, confusion, failure, and defeat. All thoughts and feelings that will lead you to believe that you aren’t good enough. I know personally I had thoughts of “Did God really call me to do this? Are you really sure?”. Would you like to know how many times I talked myself out launching A Queen with Purpose? I would say to myself, “I’m no writer. I can’t possibly provide great content women will want to read”. In addition to, “People will judge me, so I will not be sharing my story.” I decided to step away from A Queen with Purpose during my fast and thoughts surfaced if I would return. God made me face my reality. I allowed the enemy to taint the vision God has placed in me to help other women.
During the P.O.W.E.R. morning call Tiffany asked us, “Will you allow God to be enough?”. Ladies, it was like a light bulb went off! God has everything in our lives planned strategically according to his will and purpose. He placed the thoughts, the vision, the strength and courage to pursue all things. He has placed on my heart multiple visions. So, who was I to doubt the process? Who was I to hold up his vision? With me trusting in God 100% allowed things in my life to begin to flow.
Saying YES to GOD…
2018 is the year of saying YES to God! What are somethings you are currently battling with in your life that has caused you a lot of uncertainty and doubt within yourself? A relationship, a career change, and new business idea. This can be anything out of your comfort zone. Trust God to make the impossible possible and pour blessings into your life that you will not have enough room to receive. 2018 is my year of saying YES to everything God wants me to do!
During my fast God requested task of me and we had to have a discussion about what he was really asking me to do. However, when I let go over the fear I felt accomplished and received a sense of peace and calmness. God and I are in an eternal partnership. When he tells me to complete a task that I’m unsure about I tell him I’ll take it as far as I can but he’ll have to take it the rest of the way. Or he’ll begin the process and I’ll take it the rest of the way. This provides me peace and reassurance that he’s with me ALWAYS! He’s my number one partner in this life and I pledge to make the best of it for his sake.
As Tiffany stated, “Why pray & still do it your way!” Say Yes to God and see all the positive changes that will occur. The dreams that will manifest in you and the accomplishments you will achieve are fulfilling. Since I’ve completed my fast God has given me four different visions. Within these visions I have no experience YET, I’m saying YES to God and I’m going to pursue every avenue. Don’t set a limit to yourself because God has so much more for you. God choose YOU to deliver the seed he planted within you. Trust that God will see everything through. He wouldn’t give you a vision, idea or mission if we wouldn’t support you all the way to completion. I realized what God has done in my life is only a glimpse of what’s to come!
Effective immediately, DEATH TO ALL FALSE IDEOLOGIES & THINGS HOLDING YOU BACK! Don’t believe the lies of the enemy preventing you from reaching your true God given potential! Don’t fear FAILURE! Recognize the power that God holds.
As you walk strong in your faith not only must you ignore the lies the enemy will try to tell you, but you must also block out people around you who do not have your best interest at heart. John 2:24 Amplified Version states, “‘ But Jesus, for His part, did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people [and understood the superficiality and fickleness of human nature]. This scripture states don’t give into individuals who have no loyalty or only focused on surface level issues. Surround yourself with a supportive group who will empower you, pray with you and equip you with spiritual tools needed to push forward with what God has called you to do. Don’t be afraid to tell God YES but you also need to be prepared for the task he ask you to completed. You will be nervous, lost and possibly uncomfortable but in the end it’s so rewarding!
Quote this scripture and memorize it when you begin to second guess yourself.
“Many women do noble things, but your surpass them all.”
Proverbs 31:29 NIV
Say YES to God and let’s elevate to the next level!
